Tours, Expeditions & Safaris

All our tours are privately guided.  The Wolf and Grizzly Bear Safaris listed below are very popular but only two samples of available adventures. Please contact us for more all-year selections or to custom-design your own safari!

Wolf Discovery

Yellowstone Park is the best place in the world to discover the world of the wolf! Join us on a one or multi-day wolf searching, tracking, and photography tour.

Gardiner, Montana, is the best Yellowstone gateway town to base yourself with all year access both from the airport at Bozeman, Montana (BZN) and to get inside Yellowstone. Other entrance gates close during certain times of the year and are further from the best wildlife areas.

We will decide the tour plan according to the latest information in consultation with you. We suggest staying at the Yellowstone River Motel, tel: 406-848-7303, for clean, COVID-19 sanitized rooms located right on Yellowstone’s border with easy access to shopping and restaurants. Other lodging options are available in Gardiner too. We typically pick up and drop off our guests at their hotel or vacation rental.

Tour rates vary according to the overall schedule, number of people, what is included- guiding only or complete packages available including lodging and airport to airport guiding and transportation available! Children under the age of 18 no charge, we encourage families to explore together!

We typically use 4-wheel drive SUV or mini-van type vehicles equipped for Yellowstone’s harsh conditions with larger mini-bus charters available. Tours typically start early and are completed in the early-mid afternoon but you can decide the best start time.

Included: National Park Service licensed guide service, use of high-quality spotting scopes and binoculars, field interpretation materials, snowshoe use, field drinks and snacks, and transportation from your Gardiner, Montana, hotel/ vacation lodging. Starting from other towns (West Yellowstone, Bozeman, Big Sky) can be arranged with possibly an additional fee. Please contact us for details.

Not included: Full meals, National Park entrance fee (you can use your Golden Age or Golden Eagle pass or entrance receipt that you already have or pay at the entrance gate), and guide gratuity. Your lodging is on your own, but we can offer suggestions or help you with a package and include lodging with the tour.

All tours are privately guide with only your family/ party in the vehicle for the highest quality and COVID-19 safety. We do not accept non-cohort groups at this time but soon COVID-19 will be history!

Multi-day tours are the best since the reality is that sometimes wolves might not be viewable on a certain morning, but in sight the next day. We encourage a minimum of 3 days to maximize your chances and to deepen your knowledge. Week-long discovery tours allow you to explore more of Yellowstone!

Since all of our safaris and tours are privately guided, we consult with you to decide the start time. We suggest an early departure to focus on wolf searching while the animals are typically active, then if the action is slow or the animals have bedded, we explore other parts of Yellowstone to learn about the wolf’s world. Off-road simple hiking or snowshoeing are also possible, maybe even some wolf tracks!

Grizzly Bear Safari

Grizzly Bear Safari

Yellowstone Park is the best place in the world to discover the world of the Grizzly Bear! Enjoy watching bears while they hunt for bison, elk, and other prey and interact with wolves and other predators!

Bears typically begin to wake up in late March with bear peak viewing season during May and June. However, bears are active all summer until late November. Great viewing is also possible in July, August, and September during the bison and elk ruts!
